Fans are used to cool people, not rooms. The air is passed across our skin and this increases the evaporation rate - this 'removes' energy and the skin feels cooler. Hence why a steady flow of air is more comfortable. Both the Dyson and Lidl fans are using induction technology in their designs. The fan air exits via thin slits around the edge and as the airstream increases velocity, the immediate air around it reduces in pressure, this attracts room air behind and in front of the unit into this stream of air, multiplying the volume of air. This effect is less turbulent than a traditional fan and therefore it sounds quieter but importantly it feels less aggressive. Some say this is a lower air volume but in many cases it is very similar to the traditional fan, just not the noise. This technique is also used in advanced Scandinavian low energy climate systems.
Brilliant vid no nonsense 10/10.so we bought one.
great review, really helpful video, thanks for that greetings from Germany
Our Summer heat is difference to most Countries as the Humity is high, even tourists say the heat is so difference to where they come from. 😊
Popped into our local Lidl to pick one up on the way home. Saw a fella walking back to his car with one and thought “that’ll be me in 5 mins” 💭 Turned out, that happy fella had just walked out with the last one. I walked out a very unhappy fella 😢
Bought 2 of the heater ones last year as refused to pay "Dyson prices" works brilliantly, fairly quiet and the ambient lighting is a nice touch.
Just before Christmas last year my wife bought the Dyson bladeless to use as a heater for our garden cabin. Costs a fortune to run and not all that good.
Screwfix have a Blyss fan/heater/hepa filter (same bladeless style) on clearance for £60
*Lidl, not Lidls.
What’s Lidl’s? It’s Lidl..
Thanks for Sharing, Frank. You cracked me up with closing the instructional book "now the boring stuff is out of the way, lets look at the power adapter" 😂😂 Great review. You should have titled, "Lidl's biggest fan - Even bigger than Weekend Shedhead" I got my little MG3 October 2024, and driving up to Sheffield yesterday, I thought the cold air was broken, as Fan with Lo temperature was still blowing hot air. Halfway up, I found there was an A/C button that you have to press first to cool the air. Shows that we have not had it really hot for the last 17 months.
Hi Frank, Good review on the new tower fan from Lidl, just what you need today. Hope your keeping well and cool in this heatwave, 30c to day in Wrexham yesterday it was 32c, a bit too hot for May and it's still spring. As always a great video, catch you soon take care.
Nice vid but I’m not a fan of fans hehe 😜 when the air is hot it’s only moving hot air in my opinion ac is what we need but affordable of course maybe do a vid on that if you can find one
Big question is do that actually cool a room or just push the warm air round!!!!!😢
Don’t buy Dyson tax avoidance crap products
Thank you Frank ! I came across this video by chance and thought I need to get down to Lidl and get a couple of those things. A few days ago I tried to buy some from The Range but they’d sold out - no surprise there ! Then today I went to Lidl and they’d still got stock of this fan (in White) and right by the door so grabbed 2 and was on my way home. Secondly, I was a bit confused with setting up as the instructions are a bit thin so I found your YouTube channel and watched it through and now the penny has dropped and I’m now not only very happy with the fan units but thank you for your informative video which has sorted things a treat. As a result I’m now subscribed to your channel and look forward to browsing your site for other nuggets. Thank you Frank 👍
Nice video, I'll get it.🎉
I got the smaller/desktop one last year. The big one sold out quick. Spotted it tonight and grabbed 2 🤣 working very well so far!!
We got one the first year they came out. They are low power (I have a conventional 16 inch fan in the bedroom that produces almost three times the air flow on max power). The Lidl fan is both compact and quiet, which helps in the lounge for watching TV. I have been in a room with one of the bigger Dyson fans, they do seem to be more powerful.
Are you sure it's working? I put my face right up to the screen but couldn't feel a thing! Hope you kept the receipt.
