Davinci Resolve is so good in both the product and the company’s attitude towards their user that I am happy to pay the full Studio license without sailing to high sea, and I did.
Now all it needs is a proper Linux version that isn't a pain in the butt to install.

I spent a VERY painful 2 weeks switching from Premiere/After Effects to Resolve Studio/Fusion and I will never go back to Adobe's suite. Now I just need a decent replacement for PS and AI.
I have not used any Adobe paid products or its free Reader for years and it's been so blissful.

I spent all of January and February hacking up a lung and learning DaVinci Resolve in a hospital bed. Once they deemed me stable enough for society, I went rogue. I started recreating my weekly Premiere Pro edits in Resolve just to prove a point. Now? I only log into Adobe to use Photoshop and After Effects like they’re some kind of toxic exes I can't completely block yet. The absolute second I understand Fusion, it’s over. Bye-bye, Adobe subscription. You’re getting canceled faster than my health insurance almost did."

In 2009, I somehow got a free version of macromedia flash mx, then pro 8. I didn’t know it was pirated, but it worked until my compaq laptop died for good 3 years later. Since then, I’ve never had an animation software as easy to use, and FREE. Of course, I haven’t tried all that hard to learn new software since then. Da Vinci looks cool for editing videos! Also, as a point of history -- Black Magic wasn't a camera company when it bought DaVinci Systems. The Black Magic Design product line was mostly studio oriented -- converters, playback/record devices, etc -- it was kind of like AJA in that regard. Buying DaVinci Systems was part of the getting into cameras strategy. It obviously worked.
People forget DaVinci Resolve is also a After Effects alternative (though that is because Fusion is built into Resolve, despite being a seprate product).
