We went to Captain's Fish & Chips in Brighton expecting an absolute winner after seeing their thousands of glowing Google reviews. We headed down to the seafront, super excited for some proper British fish & chips by the beach… but what we got was a huge disappointment. The fish was honestly diabolical, some of the worst we’ve had in a long time. Battered, soggy, and flavourless. Not what we were expecting at all! Been a fan for years now matt, all the way from a kebab in Stamford, but you need too try pips in Cleethorpes, Erin's was a big score from you and its great, but I had a pips and will never change chip shop again brother, hot take the Irish curry sauce is next level. And they also push the boat out and do some crazy items deep fired, would make for a great video.. let's show case the best in england.

Love watching your reviews, especially on the pizza in New Haven. I’m a big fan of fish and chips. Hard to find a good place here in the States unfortunately and most of us don’t know a good fish and chips platter if it hits us in the face really so we’re usually content with the mediocre quality. I’m thinking yall need to open a legit authentic place here! Cheers!

I took an American friend to this exact spot for their first fish and chips experience based on reviews. I was actually quite upset at how crap it was for the price, yours looks better than what we got.

Being from grimsby i am immediately qualified to discuss fish matters and i have never had good fish and ships anywhere down south. You want good fish and chips you need to be in yorkshire mate. Leeds has a lot of amazing chippies, mr c's in selby (nr york) was my local chippy growing up when i went to my dads on a weekend and its now an award winning chippy. Do yourself a favour and eat some proper fish and chips up north. Some of the best fish and chips ive ever had were from the jubilee in leith, Edinburgh but that was 20+ years ago

Bankers in Brighton, but the one near the Grenadier Pub. Never had a bad Haddock and Chips there! However, the last 2 times I felt the Haddock was a bit small, before it was definitely bigger, Shrinkflation! 😮😅
