We started this food tour through the wet markets of Hanoi at 4am and it ended up being one of the coolest experiences I’ve ever had. Because it gets so hot in Vietnam, so much of the city’s work happens early in the morning which means the markets are at their busiest before sunrise. It was honestly eye opening seeing just how fresh all the ingredients are that feed the entire city and why there’s so little need for preservatives. Thank you for being so respectful about the food system. I'm so tired of white content creators going EWWW about meat especially in asia and being ignorant to our own food systems and chain/suppliers in the U.S. We are so disconnected from how food gets to our tables these days and people legit think their chicken nuggets grow on trees or something.

Those aren't bamboo, they're sugar cane. We use the green ones for juice, and the purple ones for cooking or snacking on fresh

Mangosteen is the queen of fruits. It is almost indescribable- strawberry, mango, tart... I've gotten it in the states, but it's not the same after transport. I dream of mangosteen.
