I’d use black zip ties to fix that cable to the back of the down pipe, cheap and effective and easy to dismount and re fix if needed
Flat cables can sound like a great idea, but they are not compliant with CAT standards. They don't have twisted pairs and can be subject to significant data loss, speed degradation and interference. They brand them as 'Cat6', but they're not. Just something to be aware of. I'd also have run that external Cat6 up behind the downpipe and terminated it myself so there's no slack. It's a doddle to do that. And why not put that tiny POE injector in the surface mount box inside? It'd be so much neater. Stuart normally has these wee details nailed in his projects. This one is a bit less neat and tidy than most of his stuff.

you should have bought a RJ45 crimping tool and some connectors for £15, crimping the end of a network cable is a lot easier than you think, better than all that excess cable.
That downpipe could have been off in a jiffy and the cable clipped behind it, out of site except the very top and bottom...
Just a heads up, this model suffers from water ingress. The circuit board on mine fried after a year and a friend's also failed. If you can get in under cover then it's great (or maybe get happy with some silicone). It's certainly better than the 2 different set ups I've tried since. Thanks for the shout out Stuart 👍🏻
Good Wi-Fi is important and there’s some useful information here. However, for security systems your better with Ethernet-connected cameras, as Wi-Fi can be disrupted or deliberately jammed, causing cameras to lose connection. Wi-Fi systems can still be secure if they have local recording, battery-backed networking equipment, offline alerts and overlapping camera coverage, but for maximum reliability PoE (Power over Ethernet) cameras are generally the better option.
Few things I saw that I think would personally improve. Flat cable - although useful for the situation you note, it isn’t good to use as it doesn’t twist the cables which is pretty essential. - Understand you are trying to make it as DIY as possible, but an alternative to loads of cable due to not cutting and crimping is a keystone and punch down tool. You are using a pattress anyway and an Ethernet socket would solve that issue. It’s honestly really easy. - Wifi network name. Rename it so it’s the same as your routers SSID, saves your device switching. Some prefer not to do this to keep networks separate however.
5Ghz is not illegal in the UK and there is a lot of different channels in between. You just need to ensure you set it to UK to be safe
Couple of comments, a compliant wifi AP will detect nearby radar and change channels so no legal issues. Secondly the power injector box could be fitted at the router and there you would have no need for a local power outlet near the AP.
I recently wired in some RJ45 cables, bought the tool and a tester with some plugs, all in 20 quid at Screwfix, not to difficult or fiddly, might make a video? Plus cable of course.
Cutting and putting a new connector on the end of the cat 6 cable is a pretty straight forward job - maybe a future video Stuart?
If you are on Virgin Media you can sometimes depending on your package get a wifi extender for free, i have one from them its not as fancy but it boosts the signal all the way down my fairly large garden just plugs into a normal plug so u can put it in a room near the garden or in the shed or garage to boost it
Why not buy black cable and cable tie it up behind the tain pipe with black ties? Much easier, neater and better looking
What about WiFi de-auth kits? They're a tenner on aliexpress. All my cameras are wired.
