As a Kapampangan, just wanna say Jessica REALLY captured the Kapampangan essence ✨ it was the perfect decision to go to a specific family/house to experience Pampanga bec you will not get that authentic culinary experience in commercial restaurants. And the cherry on top was going to Cely’s which we had been going to since I was a kid. Awesome recommendation from Marcos right there👌🏼
Damn, I like that Medina guy; his statement was so profound that it's not insulting. The history and preservation were next level.
'The house likes feeding people, it comes alive when it’s feeding people.' with these words alone from Sir Marcos, it truly shows how Filipino culture is centered on food, not just in Pampanga but in other provinces as well. you see it during celebrations, when titos wake up early to start cooking, titas take care of the decorations, and kids run around playing while waiting for the meals, and in moments like that, you understand why food is at the heart of it all, because it’s what keeps the house alive.
Marcos is the son of Susan Calo-Medina, a pioneer of travelogue shows in the Philippines, the precursor of what you are doing now, sort of. Her show called Travel Time which she also hosted, ran for so many years and chronicled many aspects of Philippine life. She travelled extensively with her crew throughout the archipelago documenting not just the cuisine, people but also the rich history, arts, culture, heritage and traditions.

I'm actually enjoying this probinsiya serye! Parang nagfi-field trip ba, yung ganitong mae-experience mo dati nung elementary. As someone who rarely travel even around the Philippines, I feel like getting a free tour without spending money. This is very educational and really showing the Filipino culture!

It's really nice to see people preserving the ancestral houses of their families...not changing or making it modernize..instead keeping it as it was.

Mr. Marcus Medina, you made all the Kapampangan proud! Ing buri kung dili keng sinabi mu is that about authenticity. & I agree with that 100%. & that Michellin blah blah blah... what the heck! Basta Kapampangan... Manyaman! I hope I can visit there sometime. Although I've been there already before & played tennis with a few common friends.
