Thanks for making this a short, people overcomplicate what is essentially one of the easiest things to cook in the kitchen. If you know the thickness of the steak you can use time or feel, if not use a themometer. Nice golden crust btw.

Make sure to lower heat before you add butter, so you don’t burn the butter

Leaving it on high heat while basting may result in overcooking. Suggest lowering the heat after the initial 2-3 mins of cooking both sides.

Thanks, i’m 34 and made my first steak. I’ve always had a fear of getting sick cooking meat and your video was incredibly easy.

I tried this yesterday and it was the best steak I've ever made.

Decided to cook a steak for the first time and used this video to guide me. I absolutely surprised myself, knocked this steak out of the park 😭 thank you for not beating around the push and giving clear instructions

Please use Ghee or Tallow. It’s the natural way of cooking all meats. Seed oils are highly refined, and add an unhealthy component to your meat, making it highly inflammatory. As a steak guy, here’s my tried and true tip. 1. Salt two hours before 2. Once salted, put in the fridge 3. After 2 hours, bring it out, dry off the moisture (moisture is a recipe for a bad sear) 4. Turn on the heat to high (no oil yet) 5. Once skillet has come to temp, then put Ghee or Tallow 6. Once you see some smoke, render the fat first (put the fat side down) for 1 minute. This lets more fat/flavor coat the pan 7. After one minute, gently place the steak down on one side (opposite side that you did the rendering) for 2-4 minutes (depending on thickness) 8. Flip to the other side for same amount of time 9. Following that, flip back to other side for 45 seconds 10. Then back to the other side for 45 seconds 11. Take off pan, let rest on wire rack for 5-7 minutes 12. Slice against the grain, and enjoy

I set my air fryer for just 5 minutes, grill 2:50 each side and it’s perfect medium rare.

If you dry brine it overnight it'll taste even better. The salt will penetrate the steak thereby improving the flavour, but it'll also tenderise the steak.

Do year sear both sides two mins each, or one minute per side which is two mins total? And then you put it on medium for another two mins each side? (Sorry im dumb and confused)

I can’t thank you enough, cooking medium was always hit or miss for me, never managed to get it right. That is why I was discouraged to cook for years and bound to eat always outside. And after watching this, first try, both steaks came out perfectly as I wanted. My wife got shocked 🤣🤣🤣 Thanks so much
