i just want to say thank you for blurring peoples faces. I know its a public place and space but I have anxiety about being in random videos unaware. so its a lovely gesture and I am a new fan.
Also, non-cooking meals are so underrated. Sometimes I just slice up a tomato, mozzarella, feta, some cucumber and raw carrots, throw a few olives on the side, drizzle with balsamic glaze β and boom, delicious dinner with zero stove time hehe
Felt like a sucker punch when I read the line, βyou deserve more than a plastic take out container.β Lowkey been going through some autistic burnout lately, and Iβve really been neglecting my health and eating way too much delivery food. Thank you for this video, Annika. Iβm going to try harder this week to cook more often :)
Annika's videos are like an event that we all gather up and see what she's up to
Edit: people who are commenting on my post - I am a licensed pharmacist intern and have taken hours of classes both on nutrition and on how to manage things like cholesterol. Not all cholesterol is directly because of diet - some people just have a higher genetic propensity to have a higher baseline for their cholesterol- that is why I recommended she use her vlogs to have a conversation with her provider BEFORE she completely changes her diet and lifestyle. Also PLEASE learn to read something all the way through- I am not saying red meat alone causes high cholesterol, as I also mentioned the consumption of carbohydrates and sugars liked baked goods could be a culprit as well. In NO WAY did I make any medical or dietary recommendations to her either - simply recommended she talk to her physician more in depth to get better clarity on her personal health situation. Thatβs all lol I will say a) Iβm so jealous of your ability to keep your grocery purchases on the cheaper end and theyβre all really great healthy items b) I know you went to the doctor and they recently mentioned your cholesterol but I would consider maybe using videos like this to have a conversation with your doctor about which part of your cholesterol (LDL, triglycerides, total, etc) they are most concerned about because your diet is very healthy already from what I can see - you donβt seem to consume large amounts of red meats, oil fried foods, full fat dairies, etc. you do like baked goods and Iβm not sure if you use a lot of coconut or palm oil but for the most part your diet is all the things a nutritionist would tell you to eat - fish and other lean proteins, fibers like oatmeal and fruit, and Greek yogurt and healthy nuts. Plus you exercise pretty regularly.
Hi Annika, I am probably one of your oldest followers, as in age that is. I am approximately three times older than you. Just wanted to say how I enjoy your content and particularly this one has been very interesting. Keep on posting the way you do i look forward to your vids very much. You always make me smile. Much love from Australia.
I donβt know how I never thought to shred my own cheese and freeze it β¦ definitely doing this now thank you! I live alone with my dog and this gave me a lot of ideas :D
For your hummus, the way my Arab immigrant mother always did it, adding lime really adds to the flavor profile and makes it so much more βfunβ to eat!
Quick tip! Freeze the part of the bread you are planning on freezing as soon as possible! It keeps the bread fresher and you can eat the other part of the loaf that you plan to eat in the next few days still.
Thank you for making this, I've been struggling to cook for myself and this came at the right time, I'm an adult and I struggle with healthy cooking
Ok I have to say I absolutely love the subtle humour in the editing - girl! I was laughing OUT LOUD with the power drilling the bread, desert fridge, bunny cryotherapy etc β β β but also super soothing vibes and helpful tips, thanks!
this is a really aesthetically pleasing video but i feel like the title is a bit misleading, if i had no time or energy i would probably try to go to as few grocery stores as possible, get pre-made hommus / save myself the dishes and effort required to plate up my food up / make a sandwhich with pre-sliced bread and ingredients i dont have to cook before assembling it ?
10:47 the way she cut the bread was like how kendall was cutting her cucumbers π
I've been living alone for the past 7 years and I discovered that I hate cooking. I hate that it takes at least an hour of my day only to be gone in less than 20 minutes, I hate having to wash the dishes all the time in order to cook again, and I hate having to check what I have to cook for the day to get ideas. As a college student and someone who struggles with mental health, this also adds up to having unhealthy/ unbalanced meals or relying on fast food way too much. AND ONLY THIS YEAR I FOUND A SOLUTION -> Meal prep. I spend just one day (usually Sunday) cooking for the week, takes me around 3-4 hours. leave in the fridge for Mon and Tue, the rest in the fridge and defrost as the days go on, and no daily dishes. Keeps my fridge mostly empty and my freezer full though haha. However, I still struggle to add veggies to my meals and to have healthy breakfast options on rough mornings, I found some good ideas in this video I'm willing to try ^^ thank you!
opening up the egg carton with one egg inside is so real π
this girl singlehandedly saving my life from managing my time with hockey, college, and working a job. thank you
Another good tip for garlic is to freeze it! I buy the big bags of already peeled garlic cloves at Costco, use my food processor to chop them up and they store great in the freezer for sooo long. Also, if you have a local Mexican supermarket, they usually have amazing prices and deals for produce, as well as fresher quality! Especially for avocados, I refuuuse to keep paying crazy prices for small and mushy avocados π₯²
I just want to say, thank you Annika. I was crying uncontrollably before watching this video because of some things happening in my life. But I clicked the video to distract myself, and I can honestly say you lifted my mood! You are my comfort YouTuber and I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate and enjoy your vlogsπ
βHow to cook for yourself when you have no energyβ -> goes to three grocery stores. I donβt have the energy for anything but getting them delivered π
Tips: 1. Shop with a grocery list 2. Costco for frozen protein and veggies, as well as breads/rice/pastas 3. Produce (potatos, onions, apples) and sauces from asian grocery stores 4. Low-sodium, canned goods 5. Blocks of cheese, shredded and frozen in 2oz amounts (defrost what you need the night before) 6. Veggies about to go bad? Chop them and roast them!
