I also discuss the current controversy around Bambu Lab and whether this is really a second-generation A-series printer, or just a good A1L. This was strategic in timing to drown out criticism with "NEW PRINTER!! LOOK OVER HERE!!!" Thank you for not glossing over this controversy.
Right after the orcaslicer drama is wild
You done good, buddy. Way to not shy away from the situation and share your unbridled criticism, while still honoring your commitments to the audience AND the brand. Proud of how you handled this.
I watched the video, but I still couldn't figure out how well the lawn mower and stairs model actually worked or how successful it was. Why wasn't the outcome shown? That was one of the key moments of the video! ;)
6:55 My A1 that I got for Christmas 2025 had all the accessories in bags, so I’m pretty sure it’s an A series cost cutting thing not just for the A2L. Ended up printing the same box you showed and it works great.
extreme respect for calling them out in a fully detailed and critical manner right at the start. 'bully' is definitely the label to use for them right now. hopefully they can change their ways, but it'd probably be a miracle.
That part of the Orca controversy really made me feel the pressure Stefan was under. Imagine testing Bambu's machine and then they pull a stunt like that right out of the blue... what a nightmare. Props to Stefan for pushing this video out anyway! Tbh I’m way more invested in the new printer than all that drama. The A2L looks like a solid machine, totally up to Bambu's usual standards. Just feels like a printer we should’ve gotten last year lol.
I understand the recent controversy about Bambulab, however, I'm new to 3D printing, bought an A1 Mini about a year ago and recently switched on LAN only mode and developer mode so I can still, without a problem, use Orca Slicer or an open source Android app. So I'm not really affected by recent decisions of Bambulab. I understand that some other people may are affected though. However, I still believe that I would buy a Bambu Printer again because from what I know they are pretty much the most trouble free 3D printers on the market which is important for noobs like me. Also 8:37 : Half-Life 3 confirmed?
great review! lets see the lawmower ramp!! love this .
Respect! That's an engineer talking, not some paid shill
I really like how you handle the controversy around Bambu Lab. Very professional and honest, makes me value your opinion and reviews even more.
A fellow Gothic enjoyer... Cannot wait for the remake!
The visuals are very cool, great video as always
It's a shame I'll never buy another Bambu machine ever again.
29:09 i hate it when youtubers say they will link something in description and it's not there
I still won't buy from a company that wants to monitor and lock down everything I make.
To be honest, I am not sure their most dedicated customers are members of “the community” rather than folks who just want to print stuff reliably and don’t know or care about any of the open source drama.
I'm aware of the controversy Bambu Lab has been facing recently, but I'm still thankful to Stephan for this review, and I hope he stays unaffected by whatever fallout critics might direct at him or his future reviews.
On the topic of the name "A2L" and second generation... I think they named it such that it would be easy to find information specific to the printer. A1 "mini" was a really poor choice of name, you want A1 information but constantly get information on the A1 mini mixed in. Then when you try to exclude information on the mini, you end up losing information that perhaps simply mentions both or applies to both. A distinct name is good for this reason, imo.
