The downside to German design: "Without the hold down bar it could be damaged if it is turned sideways or up side down." The Germans: "No, no, this is not possible. We labeled the box THIS SIDE UP."
Think about it for the rack height. These batteries weigh around 100lbs a piece. Getting up to 11 in a stack means lifting overhead. Most people who can afford 10 batteries have room in their garage for a second rack. Most people do not have the strength or equipment to lift a 100lb rack battery overhead.
Can you do a system with a used EV battery pack
I can speak for ecoworthy rack storage batteries. I've had mine a couple years of total trouble free service now. No problems, no hiccups... they aren't the cheapest but are still pretty affordable and work great.
Ooooooh. Nice! I'm loving this. Your reaction when you popped it open was perfect.

This battery looks pretty sophisticated
Nice! Keep up the GREAT work. Def a competitive market nowadays...and quality seems to be better too
Will, Please remind your viewers to be aware of the amperage running through the wire, especially if you wire the batteries in series to charge an EV. If charging an EV you can use the smaller wire size if they are run in parallel to a buss bar. I learned this the hard way when my wires melted and degraded. Thanks for your videos!! You are the best!!
Wow that is a pretty battery inside. This thing looks like it was built by robots. All the new batteries look awesome these days. Not like a couple years ago where they were held together with tape and glue and prayers.
Review the Basen Green batteries. I have the 32kwh battery and it is excellent. So shocked. $3k shipped to Alaska. Eve cells that stay within about .05v of eachother with occasional top balance. The thing discharges 54v @ 200a! I use it with two EG4 6000XP for full off grid- normal house.
I have always like German Quality on everything else. So I figured this would be good.
Will, if I have a rack of EG4’s and I want to add a rack of these or others you’ve reviewed, into my off grid system, how would I go about that?
Those insides are gorgeous
You make good and knowledgeable reports. However, when reporting on rack batteries or rack please call out the size of the case or rack space. I bought a 48V WattCycle 100Ah and dé 100Ah which are designed for 19" racks, and coming from an pro audio and server rack world 19" made perfect sense. After look on line at a lot of battery racks I thought the Eco-Flow looked like a nice design and solid build. Boy was I shocked when after I assemble the rack, to find out it was some weird 17.x? inch wide rack. It's bad enough you have to get the depth and height correct but now the width? That's crazy. So please point out the sizes in your review and try to raise everyone's awareness on this issue. Racks are big and heavy and costly to ship around, as are batteries.
Always love these episodes.
Opening German stuff is like Christmas 🫣
Very German of them to be good on hardware engineering and pretty bad at software engineering
Looked cool inside. Would be cool if they would stack with bus bars built into the sides of each that would interconnect.
