The phrase “media literacy” has brought awareness to how our education system is failing the youth, while simultaneously summoning some of the most pretentious, smug, confidently incorrect, self-proclaimed intellectuals I’ve ever seen
“clocking culture” is literal bullying in a socially acceptable form. under the guise of “critique” no you just want to initiate humiliation ritual
Misspelling happens to literal professional writers all the time. Why the fuck do people care so much about a misspell to the point where they didn't even watch the video but be annoying asf
I hate the holier than thou mindset so many people have, where they say “you made a minor mistake/typo therefore your argument means nothing and you are stupid” as if we all dont make the same mistukes
This reminds me of back in the day like 2012 time where we would call such people who do that constantly as ‘grammar nazis”
As someone with dyslexia these grammar nazis always pissed me off. There are different types of intelligence, you'll think someone who pretends to be so smart would know this. I also think we should stop thinking english is the only smart language.
People nowadays are so used to a perfect finished product that they forget that we as humans aren't perfect. This reminds me of how some people berate beginner artists because their art doesn't meet their expectations. Apparently you can't try something new anymore. Perhaps that's why ai is so popular, so they can get "perfection" on the first try. :/
my sister just pointed this out to me but the alliteration in the video title is DELICIOUS
There's a lot of negativity in the world. So, instead of contributing to that, people should do positive things. Don't "clock" me, English is not my first language.
Whenever I make a good point, or start talking too much, they start to mention how i pronounce three like tree. Sometimes i'm not even speaking someone will get near me and say tree, I can't say anything anymore, sometimes it's not even just clocking T, they'll just straight up be racist and mention how dark I am
FINALLY I THOUGHT I WAS ALONE ON THIS 😭 the amount of comments correcting others with no kind intent whatsoever is insane 💀 it’s more annoying/negative then helpful
I truly believe that this is what dopamine screen addicts do when their regular screen dopamine isn't hitting so they try to reset with a different flavor of dopamine spikes to get them through their dopamine screen burnout.
SO REAL. they flame everyone who doesn't think the way that they do, potentially causing them to never form their own opinion again in fear of getting virtually yelled at/ laughed at for it. This problem is prominent ESPECIALLY in Pinterest whispers. I see a lot of people try to make themselves be the smart one by parodizing the people with the opinion contradicting to theirs, acting like they are the normal and sensible voice of reason and it is SO INCONSIDERATE. its like that one reddit-sounding phrase, "I've already depicted you as the Soyjak and me as the Chad."
I haven't finished the video yet but I wanted to say something. I feel like the whole clocking culture thing feeds into the reason why a lot of creators feel like they walk on eggshells when posting. It literally doesn't even have to be a big controversy for your comment section to be full of comments with people clowning/correcting you. It gets to a point where a lot of the time creators will have their corrections pinned to their comment section just in the hopes that makes people stop commenting about it and comment about the actual video. Spoiler alert, people continue to harp.
Everyone wants to be intellectually superior to others, but end up forgetting that ignorance sometimes is a bliss, and the first step to learn something new and acquire better knowledge
this is how grifters win. skewing facts to create "owns" that are in reality pseudointellectual babbling.
This also can apply with how commentary YouTuber, drama farm YouTuber fanboys often treat those YouTubers opinions like the words of god and dogpile any who dare to criticize those YouTubers. Those parasocial fanboys feel like they and their YouTuber are always correct 10000% of the time even when the YouTuber is objectively wrong. sometimes it’s important to point out the intellectual supremacy complex YouTube users tend to have.
She spitting facts. I call it people have the "grace and mercy for me, not for thee" mentality. Also, agree with you on the clarifying everything being exhausting because that's how I was when I first started my YouTube channel. Then I realized some people are determined to misinterpret you know matter what, so I stopped caring as much.
On AI being more accurate: this more so depends on what’s in its data iirc. AI can and has been wrong plenty of times (see the mess of dangerous misinformation that google Gemini spread earlier in its addition to google search, and is still unable to fully escape) because it’s taken data from ALL of the internet, not just the places with correct information. This is one of its major limitations imo besides the issue of the data harvesting being essentially theft, and the general soulless way AI is being used. But I think the way you’re using AI as a comparison to our human flaws still works to illustrate your point, even if it’s not the whole picture. And on the “you will make mistakes, you’re not as perfect as you think you are” bit, you said it sounded mean but it’s actually a more loving thing to do for yourself in my experience. As much as it hurts others to sit on a high horse and act like you’re incapable of having flaws, it also makes reacting to your inevitable mistakes wayyyy worse. Allowing yourself to be flawed is part of self care imo. That’s all aside though, great video! :)
I also dislike when people try to make something “basic knowledge btw!!” Like as if the person who just learned a the knowledge as fucking dumb for not knowing it i saw a video about like example water pressure for animals and everyone was quick to act like their the best because they know it??? Like for me I don’t much about it because they literally don’t teach us much about sea animals??? They kept saying “basic knowledge btw!👆” like can people learn new things dude without being treated as if their half a brain??, it pissed me off like sorry I don’t get fully on the same exact experience as you 😭?
