I once heard the famous scientist Michio Kaku say that either we are alone in the universe or we are not and both possibilities are equally terrifying. I totally DISAGREE. I take emotional COMFORT in the possibility that there could be other beings out there in the universe. I know that there is SOME chance of them being dangerous but I feel like the rewards far outweigh the dangers. To me being alone in the universe is much scarier.
The problem with space scientists is that they present assumptions to us as facts.
We can’t really say for sure we’re alone across the universe, but we probably can say we’re functionally alone.
This just shows we need to take better care of are own planet.
Planets and stars etc are like atoms and molecules. They are a tiny part of a tiny part of something so big that it is beyond human comprehension.
We aren’t alone. It’s arrogant to think we are the only intelligent life. But we just can’t find them because of the vast expanse of interstellar space

If another civilization is out there why would they want anything to do with us , a messed up civilization who is cruel ,evil , dishonest, murderous and wartorn living on the brink of self distruction ? They would hold us in disdain and think we are abhorrent beings.
