The temple was a gift from Egypt to the museum due to Jackie Onassis’ efforts to save the Ramicide temple at Aswan that would have been overtopped by the Aswan dam creating lake Nasser this temple was also going to be drowned by the reservoir. So, the gift saved this temple and the temple to Ramses was famously cut apart and moved to higher ground. The respect for cultural heritage was always shown.
I guarantee a 14 year old didn't consent to being married off or anything else done to her no matter what society excepts.
Henry also suffered from a leg ulcer from the fall as his horse fell on him. The ulcer never healed and most likely became gangrenous.
Henry didn't end in complete failure, with Anne Boleyn he had a daughter, the red haired Queen Elizabeth 1st. Under her highly successful rule England quickly overtook Portugal and Spain to build the strongest navy, military and economy in the world. This all powerful Queens lineage was Anglo/Norman/Celtic British - hence the ginger hair.
*British Museum* : did some one say Egyptian?
I think Henrry was diabetic. That would explain his leg.
Wow -- this is all a bit over the top.
The narrator sounds like the man that narrates forensic files. I love his voice
While visiting the NY I wanted to see the Giant Buddha that was on loan On my last day in town I planned a day where my oldest niece and I could visit the Met. According to my research the day we visited was the first day of the opening. When we got to the room it was locked. I spoke to the guard outside the door I expressed my disappointment. This guard was so kind. She opened the door and allowed us in the locked exhibit. Her boss caught us We were already outside the door The guard was reprimanded for her actions. I Thanked her again and asked why she did this. This woman explained that she had a niece who didn’t live in town. That how special the time they spent together was To this day I give thanks to this security guard!
Your music muddies the narrative. When will Youtubers ever learn.
Didn’t Henry VIII also have syphilis? That also can render people mentally unstable.
enjoying this 100%
The house I lived in when I moved to Plainfield NJ was a Stanford White house. I delved deep into his life as an architect & the murderous scandal he was involved in at the Union Station restaurant & club on the murder tour of NYC ... Super cool book too ...
I’m going to assume this is pure entertainment, sadly people will confuse this as actual history, because the plot is contextualized by factual data. Yikes.
The stupidest excuse of a failure egotistic King that was a killer and a criminal. Oh he was like that because he had a head trauma. Just owned it he was a terrible King . What a shame of historic figure.
What kind of horse did they put his huge self on, a Clydesdale??😮
idc what people say. If people thought it was 'right' back then, the whole point was to take advantage of the child before she learns human rights. Im sure people back then have thought to themselves and have chosen not to agree. No excuses.
14 was NOT a normal age for women to get married then. Not the average age. It was looked down on. Stanford white groomed her and her story is so sad. I love Evelyn. Stanford white WAS a pdf file however his granddaughter tries to justify it
More of these please!
EXCELLENT video. Thank you so much! I learned a lot! Love it
