I found the easiest way to get the keypad to work again is to follow the FACTORY RESET or FORGOTTEN PIN on the flip up cover of the keypad. Make sure to press and hold the PROGRAM button on the opener on the ceiling in your garage. Both the KEYPAD and OPENER have to be in program mode to re-program. A lot of YT videos fail to mention this.

Don't you need to press the learn button on the device on the ceiling inside too?

Glad to know you can change the code without having to start over even if battery was removed and changed. It also retains the previous code. So I changed the batteries entered my code the set a new one. Thanks for the tips.

Do you know what might be the problem with my garage door keypad? Sometimes, I have to enter it three times because it won’t work. I replaced the batteries, reprogrammed the keypad, and unplugged the unit. It's frustrating, so I’m unsure if I need a new opener. Oh, and I feel like there’s a delay.

FOR THOSE WHO ARE WANTING MORE DETAILS THESE VIDEOS FAIL TO MENTION - here is how I got mine to work. - I followed the instructions on the key cover with no luck. - I guess that what ever failed attempts you make with the key pad will make it shut down and be sad and not want to work. Who knows. There’s a way around it tho. 1. Start from scratch. Press and hold the up/down and program key at the same time until the smaller indicator light below the program key lights off. 2. Press the learn code button on your motor box. The light needs to be PURPLE. Not blue. A flashing neon purple is what you want. Press and hold until you see that. Might take a couple times to get that purple you want. 2. Enter factory code 357 on key pad 3. Press program 4. Enter a pin u like. 5. Press program 6. Enter chosen pin 7. Press up down button and it should work. Thanks.

I’ve tried everything and the keypad won’t work. I’ve been the in the house for 2 years and never programmed the pad, however the openers/remotes were already programmed. I just want to be able to put the code in to lower and raise the garage doors. Any suggestions?
