How to Program Subaru Garage Door Opener. Full video here: https://youtu.be/QpWzHUpmJ98 Here's a quick video to show you how to clear our your Subaru homelink and program your garage door with your Subaru homelink mirror. This removes the need for the garage door clicker in your car. How to program your Subaru homelink: 1. Click and hold buttons 1 and 2 on your homelink mirror (this resets your homelink mirror) 2. Clock the button on your homelink mirror that you want to program. At the same time, click and hold the button on your garage door opener that corresponds with the door or gate that you want to set. 3. Your Subaru homelink will flash green once it's been set.

I think my husband and I programmed ours in a record 6 hrs….it was not that easy for us. Wish I had seen this video 7 months ago!
This worked quickly and younonly spent 1 min and fully explained it. Very impressed.
Mine does a rapid flashing green, not a solid green and doesn't work.
worked like a charm & i couldn’t find anything about this setup in the stack of manuals that came with it. thanks!
Thanks, man. I've literally never had one of these work for me, but today, I made it happen! The really cool part is that I would need to lose pretty much my whole car to get locked out. While I'm not gonna say it's never been done before, it is definitely less common than losing that little plastic devil.
🥇❤️ New Subaru Outback. BEST ever, to the point, vid. SUCCESS!! THANK YOU 👩🏾🦳👏🏾
The dealership installed my mirror after I already had the car for a week or so. And yes, it was that easy to sync it with the opener. I love it!
I've always wondered if this will work for the gates in a gated community? Anyone ever tried that?
Thanks. I waited years to do this and it was so much easier than I had imagined. It literally took me less than a minute to do the actual programming.
One key step that needs to be said for a 2023 Forester — the engine must be on to program.
How do I add another garage door opener for a second home without clearing? Or I have to program all your clickers at once??
What if I don’t have the opener
Can you sync them without a portable garage door opener? I lost mine years ago
I put this off for months because I thought it would be really difficult. Looked up a video and yours was the first that popped up and it literally took me a minute or two to set up 😅 Thank you so much!
THANK YOU! I looked at other videos, some directly from Subaru, and they never presented it like you, and just happen that my garage door system is older and you were absolutely right about how to do it. YOU ROCK, with my thanks.
Thank you, perfect explanation. The Subaru official video didn’t help but this did for resetting your mirror.
Chamberlain LiftMaster 18 Crosstrek worked great. Your efforts are still helping others.
I wanted this option for my 19 trek, but the option cost almost as one monthly payment. I decided I didn’t need it since my opener has Wi-Fi and I bought the smallest keychain opener that’s made. My iPhone also doubles as a garage door opener too. I’ve always wondered how that mirror works. Thanks for posting.
Whew, thanks to this video, finally figured out how to set up homelink after 5 years. As stated by others, my 2020 Subaru Forester has to have the car engine running, or it won't work. In fact, the remote won't work if the car is not running. Also, I have a Lift Master door opener, which has a learn button on it. So holding the remote up to the rear view mirror didn't seem to do anything. The car was in the garage under the garage door opener, so I only had to step up on the door frame to reach, but our garage is not tall. Push the learn button on the back of the garage door opener and then pushed the first button on the mirror. I didn't think it worked at first, but when I tried again, the mirror displayed an arrow going down, which was the direction the door was moving. WARNING, altho you have to have the engine turned on, be careful if it is in the garage. You can really harm yourself if you have the car running with the door closed. This sounds like a something everyone should know, but when you start working on tasks, it is easy to lose track of time.
Does Homelink only work with the SUV on? When I turned off my Forester and clicked Homelink after I entered my garage, the garage door did not go down.
