I was going to guess sliced bread
Ruby
I say this as a developer who worked with PHP in 1999-2003 when the performance was iffy and caching was difficult. My 9/11 was spent working for a news website and trying to keep it upright. It was a learning experience. Then returned to it in 2008-2010 when things were better but the frameworks weren't quite there. 2024 Laravel PHP-FPM with it's now-default internal caching, Apache MPM event and a good DB caching strategy is faster than balls. And thanks to Laravel, very much scalable. I can't speak for modern Wordpress because I'm now an entrepreneur who needs coarse-grained control for my business.
Best programing language is English
Clicked this video very quickly. I love your take because you freelance quite differently than I do. Thanks for sharing!
I have never hated PHP. Searching for a JavaScript backend, I found PHP. It was lovely. It works. It's not pretty or elegant. Granted. But it works. It works great!
actually what u said is absolutely right. PHP is a freelance thing as CMS like Wordpress websites are built using PHP but we know it has limitations. so anything more complex requires intervention of developers.
I thing that it is necessary to compare not the number of vacancies on swift and the number of vacancies on php, but the number of vacancies on php and the number of people who want to get this job. And it's just a crowd of people, there's not so much work
I have a question, when you say PHP you mean some framework of PHP or what exactly, Thank you for you videos , they are always are useful for us 🤗❤️
I think Uncle Bob and his SOLID shprincipes suck. Do you agree?
I like messed up languages. PHP and C++ being two of them.
I'm starting out learning python and later on I'll check out PHP.
exactly
Before clicking on this video, I guessed you'd mention PHP.
I commented on the video you made the other day about "what scripting language you should learn first" I had mentioned people should learn php first even though you recommended js because the first issue they would run into when making a cms is wanting to login/register on there websites meaning that php would come before js in learning order, also not to mention you can build entire websites without using a single line of js. I hope my comment influenced this video 😅
Lol @ Cousin Steph. What's your take on MERN stack, can I get freelance gigs with this stack or would you advice I learn php and what resources would you advice I use to learn php.
Stefan, first off, thanks so much for these videos and insights! I've been hooked going over all your videos while I work. Question: I'm most interested in Front End Development, but as a freelancer. I hear you say that most freelance jobs are for Web Designers and Full Stack developers. I could be wrong, but when i think of "Web Designer" I think of someone who focuses primarily on the layout/appearance of the website, and not so much the coding aspect. With that said, to be a successful freelancer do I need to be proficient at both Web Design (designing) and Web development (coding)? It sounds like I need to know both well
Are companies posting WP, PHP and/or JS work location agnostic? I live in a tiny corner of Asia, but freelance is what I want to do.
Nobody, absolutely nobody learns a language in 1 day.. Even if they're geniuses. You can learn some superficial stuff here and there.. How to declare a variable, how to create a script, functions and methods. But not the language. Just putting it here so that people don't get the wrong idea. You'll need a few months minimum to really say "I know the language".. Sometimes 1 month sometimes 3 months, sometimes a few years.. Depending on what you mean by "I know the language"
Thanks to laravel php is great, never liked it before
