This looks like Claude Desktop.
bro...i have a vps...how can i install desktop on my home machine to utilize my vps installation...dont want to clutter up my main machine with hermes.
Their design team is on fire.
Great breakdown of the desktop app! However, for advanced setups running autonomous agents inside hardened Docker containers (with Squid egress proxies and local MCP servers for legal/sensitive data), migrating execution completely to a native Windows desktop app breaks the container security boundary. Does the Nous Research team plan to support using the Desktop App purely as a remote client UI (connecting to an external dockerized backend API) rather than running the agent engine locally on the host machine? That would be the ultimate setup for balancing a beautiful UI with enterprise-grade containment.
After I’d spent days building up my mission control dashboard 🙄

Thanks, dropped at the perfect time. Just reconfiguring my Hermes Agent.🎉
The best tutorial out there, Alex! Thank you 🙏
Gentlemen, no more excuses. It’s time to build.
RIP to the face of OpenClaw 😂
How can the desktop app replace discord or telegram?? When I'm on the go all I have is my phone, so those are the only choice. Over played hype Alex 😢. For anyone using away from the office you still needs both.
You’re running this on a Mac… what specs does it need to run Hermes Desktop? I have an old m3 MacBook Air with 8GB RAM. Is that sufficient if I don’t intend to try and run any models locally on the Air?
Do you have idea if this app works remotely on Mac if I’m using Hermes on Ubuntu server?
Thanks Alex!
For those saying it is separate from pre existing WSL, yes by default it is separate. It can run a local gateway or remote gateway. You would select remote. Ask your existing hermes to tell you the remote url and how to find the session token. It brings all your info into the desktop. :)
Questions & Notes: 1. I liked & watched to the end (Smooch??) Per livestreams when they were a thing.. 😉 2. Love the Artifacts folder 3. Can we group the Crons in one folder to NOT litter the sessions?? 4. Didn't realize tools took up tokens. Changing this. (Thank you.. and do we need to do this on the Hermes side for all chats or will this change it for every channel (Telegram too) or JUST the desktop app?) 5. Love the Cron controls now.. 6. API Keys... important and gave me fuzzy feelings to not have to drop them in chat or work on Terminal..
.,... this is still the cli just with menus on the side lol it's literally part of it. Just run "hermes desktop" in the cli.
Isn’t the point of skills that they fire only when needed and so don’t take up context or add cost until utilized? Thanks for your work btw. Always keep an eye on your latest vids.
Hi
Stupid question. How is the desktop app going to connect to my Hermes agent running behind my firewall? I guess you're going to Tailscale them all together? You're not suggesting that Hermes Desktop has some kind of built-in traffic slinger, are you? I mean, that is the thing I thought was pretty cool about Telegram and Discord is you're able to get to your agent without Tailscale and without a reverse proxy. Like you're using Discord as a kind of poor man's reverse proxy. Am I missing something?
