What Scientists Are Beginning to Find in the Bermuda Triangle

As an adult, suddenly woke up and realised I haven’t been worried about Bermuda triangle for a while.

The best argument I’ve ever heard against the Bermuda Triangle being dangerous is that insurance doesn’t charge extra for traveling through it.

Growing up when i did, every child had two irrational fears: Quick sand and the Bermuda Triangle Edit: gonna add when i say "irrational fear of quicksand" I'm not talking about actual quicksand or similar situations like bogs and moores. I'm talking about worrying that the far corner of the sandbox at the playground is quick sand.

I've been living in the bermuda triangle for about 30 yrs now and haven't found my way out yet! But the rum is good!!

While watching this video I wrote a lengthy comment about how no one who talks about the Bermuda Triangle ever does any statistical comparisons to losses of ships and planes in other parts of the world, and then just as I was putting the finishing touches on my rant... he did exactly that. 🤣 I had my doubts about this video when it started out with such melodrama and sensationalism -- but he got to some actual science in the end. Well done.

Bermuda Triangle, quick sand and ghosts have all been much more underwhelming than I anticipated as a child.

I am an active seafarer, and our trade route is america to europe and sometimes asia, we ALWAYS had to pass by this area, and I confirm that our gps and magnetic compass get fk'd up(we have the latest ones) weather is really unpredictable, one watch period it would be sunny then it can become overcast to rainy with high winds next, it always give me the creeps the first few times but eventually, it becomes normal.

I have story from the Bermuda Triangle. While in the Royal Navy we operated there roughly February 1993, funnily enough visiting Puerto Rico, Bahamas Barbados Florida and Bermuda before sailing home to Plymouth, there was at least one hurricane during that spell I remember whilst in Florida. Anyway what I really want to say and find fascinating still is what I experienced while being on deck one sunny day. The sea around the ship as far as we could see turned like glass and approximately every two feet there were these little whirlpools. I was a young sailor at the time but the guy supervising us was in his thirties and pretty level headed and I remember him remarking yo another older guy. "I've never seen that before." That's it. I remember seeing a documentary where they put the mystery of sinking ships down to sinkholes suddenly forming under the sea as they do on land in Florida and thought that was a good fit.

I've sailed through the triangle probably more than 100 times over the last 45 years... seems like any other patch of sea. 🤷

I've been to Bermuda. Wonderful country. They call it the "Miami triangle" and attribute most of the disasters to people who aren't Bermudian being bad at sailing. They're not far off.

I live in Southern Oregon, the home of "The House of Mystery at the Oregon Vortex." A magnetic anomaly about an acre in size. I spent 7 years as a tour guide there and can tell you that it does indeed mess with compasses and was a "no fly zone" until modern day GPS. The area is not static but constantly in flux with shifting energies. Compasses can work correctly or point the wrong direction, they will sometimes spin in circles or just bob back and forth. If in a large area like the Triangle, this could definitely be problematic. I was sensitive to the shifts and would get vertigo when my tour moved closer to the center of the Vortex where it is stronger. I had a few people pass out, or get sick on tour but leaving the area stops it. We show height changes where 2 people on a level platform can switch places and appear the same height switch back and one is much taller. These can appear as slight changes like 1" or as extreme 8" to 12" changes, depending on the flux of the Vortex. The flux is random but always occurring. Vortices are incredibly interesting and occur naturally all over the planet. The areas that people put their car in neutral and it appears to roll up hill is an optical illusion created by a magnetic anomaly aka a Vortex. Balls appear to roll uphill in the Oregon Vortex, but again this is an illusion created by the vortex since gravity ensures nothing can ever roll uphill. There is also a lot of interesting light anomalies captured on cameras. I would like to see more scientific studies done on vortices, its incredibly interesting to me! BTW nothing paranormal or "woowoo" happens at the Vortex its just electromagnetic energy creating distortions. Nothing to be scared of.

Seeing the Bermuda triangle constantly referenced in media, my child brain just assumed there was just a higher concentration of electromagnetic fields in that area, causing navigational equipment to malfunction and causing ships and planes getting lost at sea, especially on foggy or stormy nights.
