"It's just a domestic" Is so insane to me. Why is it a misdemeanor if you beat your wife, but a felony if you beat a stranger.
I dont know how she does it, seeing the worst of humanity day after day. Keep fighting the good fight, Laura!
Fascinating woman with an incredible career. What a difference she has made
Laura Richards is a global hero in this field. She has done more to protect women and children as well as more to apprehend the cowardly men who harm them, than any other individual. And she’s been at it for decades. She deserves a Nobel Peace Prize for her contribution to stopping male violence against women and children.
What an amazing woman, I hope she reads the comments' section and see's how appreciate and respected she is. We NEED people like this.
Stalking really is murder in slow motion. I wish the lawmakers around the world would take it more seriously.
If you've ever dealt with a psychopathic person in real life before you will understand why Laura sees the prospect of rehabilitating them as so futile. You can't convince someone they should care about others when their brain literally isn't capable of it.
What an eloquent woman with so much insight on these crimes. You should never underestimate the hate for and towards women.
She's a fucking hero. I hope each country has a version of her protecting the women & children of society 🙏🏼
As a survivor of stalking, strangulation, and SA, I am so grateful for Laura and everything she is doing! It really means a lot to see women like her trying to make a difference <3
"Stalking is murder in slow motion" and "would you want them to live next door to you?" are 2 very powerful statements of reality to snap both law enforcement and "rehabilitation branches" of the justice system out of their denial. Truly an amazing woman!!!!
I absolutely got on board w/ her when I heard her say psychopaths cannot be rehabilitated. They are simply missing that part of their brain where empathy & the ability to feel compassion should live.
Teaching empathy to a psychopath is like explaining the colours to a person who's been blind since birth.
Saving 58 lives a year is impressive. Stalking is still not taken as seriously as it should be. I've watched more than one video on YouTube where the police didn't act after the intended victim contacted them. Tragedy followed, which is so disturbing.

Laura is a breath of fresh air in this space. We need more Lauras.
Everything said here about stalking is really important. Someone as high profile as Rhianna, with mountains of money. Still had an incredibly difficult journey in court. Proving this guy was, in fact stalking. Even though it was widely known and documented, the guy was doing what he was doing. This happens to everyday people. And when you are put in this situation, it is very scary.
For those who don't know Corey's case: Corey was put on the treadmill by Greg for being "too fat" and he tortured that little boy with exercise i.a. until his little body gave out. 😢 The courts giving Greg access to his son after 100 reports by Corey's mum should sit in prison with him as well.
As a father of 2 daughters, thank you for making the world a little safer for them
It struck me hard that as a woman I know stalking is extremely dangerous behaviour, and that it didn't seem that obvious to the police... then again it makes sense that men don't have the same life experience and fears. At least there's a number of men that are willing to listen. We just need more.
