Basically, tap into their ego. They can't help but show you how they know more than you.

It’s equally important to master the other part. Not sharing too much information, not feeling the need to overcorrect people, etc.
As a therapist I found that silence was a good way to get information. Most people want to fill the silence. They're wondering what you're thinking and that's uncomfortable.
The girl behind the counter at Dunkin straight asked me how I like my coffee and I just said ha nice try
The "Monk" TV show had a moment where Monk is getting information from someone, and is asked, how did you get them to say all that? I never forget the response: "People don't like to tell you things, but they love to correct you."
Can I use this in job interviews? "I heard you're hiring me. I can't imagine how much of a good idea that is."
DEEP...Don't defend, don't explain, don't engage, don't personalise. Works for me.

If i was the interviewer i would’ve said “ i bet you use this technique all the time”
1. Get them to correct the record 2. Statements, "so [recap]" or "I bet..." 3. Disbelief, "No Way!" 4. Bracketing, "between x and y"

Remember folks, if they are telling you this, imagine what they are not telling you because it's classified!
I've seen this trick. However, I like telling people a little of what they want to hear so you can see who talks. Shallow conversation and playing dumb is easy to spot when you're an introvert 😂
LOL! it is so easy to use this method and especially if your a secure person, not worried about ego when someone is "correcting you" then this trick can pulled off MARVELOUSLY!
