Meeting pods are a ripoff, so I built my own. Buy or DIY?

I am going to incite a riot if this series doesn’t return more frequently though!

To be fair, that's how much time it takes to build it the first time. If you need multiple of them, then the practice of building them might reduce the man-hours significantly. You can see that in how they pivoted on how to construct the walls. For a second one, they could immediately go for the new construction.

You guys were so close to greatness. Putting the squarespace sponsor in the first 20 second of the video to fit the space was literally right there. This might've been the first time i'm annoyed that you didnt put the sponsor earlier in the video 😭😭

I think you gotta remember that 170+ hours, includes the RnD time and where they had to redo things. I'm sure with a solid plan, and no need to go back and forth, you could cut that time down by a lot.

First one will always take the longest since you are figuring things out. Do this 2-3 times that time goes down and savings goes uo

I guarantee that a couple of guys that do construction regularly could pound one of these out in half the time, if not less. Especially once they build a couple. You could probably hire a crew, give them the plans, and let them at it for a week or two, and you'd get a bunch of them for all your meeting needs.

No to dovetails in structural framing, that was DIY error number two in the design, first was putting the corners up and trying to build between. Pocket screws, dowels, or biscuits are all better alternatives over the dovetails in a project like this. A little more time in design and planning would remove a lot of the rework.
