I'm a long time, 61 year old gamer, who witnessed everything you talked about especially keeping up with the latest generation of GPU. I wondered if the technology would flatten out one day, but who would have ever seen this A.I. thing coming so many years ago. I just figure I will wait it out and either gaming dies or I die first. It's been a fun journey, fun times with friends playing MMO's, but now I play single player games and if it ends or becomes too much trouble, I will stick to one of my other hobbies instead. Crazy times.

Even worse with 2080ti was the price was actually $1200, only EVGA offered a $1000 model that was almost always out of stock.
I think the real issue is game developers are going to have to actually create efficient products and compelling games since they can't just keep pushing the graphics envelope.

It started when they realized they could sell a 4090 to companies for 60-100k. Gamers have been doomed ever since.

AdoredTV made a similar video back when Ampere was released i believe. It's great you're keeping that content alive by producing these types of videos. A lot of people don't have that decade of "experience" so can't really see the bigger picture. And many of the "popular" outlets don't keep this context in mind when reviewing products. You have to go back to the days of AnandTechs classic GPU reviews to get those kinds of insights. And that started disappearing when nvidia went off the rails. So, people coming into this industry today simply are not equipped, imo, to make great inferences about product value. Content like this is extremely important for the consumer. And this is another great example of your expertise in the industry beyond just cranking out benchmarks. Thanks Steve.

I bought my 3080ti when EVGA closed up shop on their GPUs. By the looks of things I'm gonna be using this bad boy forever.
Once this bubble pops, I'm curious how many people will remember how badly NVIDIA screwed them when choosing their next GPU. I'm guessing very few.
Even for those of us that already have good rigs, I guarantee you ALL of us are sweating bullets hoping nothing fails and requires replacement...especially memory, storage, or graphics anytime soon.
Graphics got as good as they need to be years ago. It's time they focus on improving efficiency.
