YES, this has been happening all across multiple industries. These mega corporations do not and will not ever care about us.

It was never about gamers. Back in the day, 3DFX, a company that came before NVIDIA, and a direct competitor, supposedly had some brilliant antialiasing tech in the works and ready for release. NVIDIA bought them up and supposedly buried that tech. I don't think many even remember that company anymore, even if it was huge at the time. Remembering that story has always kept my perspective on NVIDIA and its leadership grounded. Even if you watch Jensen's interviews, you won't get the vibe that he did it for gamers. He was a career guy. And that career guy has realized there's bigger growth somewhere else. It's almost like he and other industry leaders are hallucinating about AI, but I suspect they're not even buying their own lies. They probably realize they're building a fantasy, they realize it's insane, but they're willing to push it on everybody else because, well, money.

Gamers have reached class awareness enlightenment

This is essentially on conspiracy theory territory but I imagine they'd push this to make prebuilts cheaper than building your own PC, so everyone switches to prebuilts with proprietary parts and connectors that will be harder to replace and once those break down they'll push cloud gaming over physical hardware so nobody ever owns their PCs and continually gives Nvidia money

I am the lucky few that bought my RTX 3080 and 5800X PC right before all the shitshow that start from 2020, still using the same system after 6 years with no problem.
