Hello 👋 just a common dude with a bit of experience mixing wood with another material is really complicated because wood and either increased amd decrease size can also warp its shape bending it having stuff to increase the diameter of the end to fit in the hole is good but if the wood expands due to thermal conditions the 3d printed fittings might crack this video is really fun to think about

re the little spacer you put between the dowels so additions can snap on better: simplify it to just a cube that site between the dowels and combine it with the addition itself. less pieces means more user-friendly assembly

Id use pvc pipes just cause always right size. And internal cable routing. Would look full on cyberpunk. Also semi clear pipes with rgb strip in it would look peak

adjustable ends so dowels of different sizes can be used (also it helps for when the dowel ends have slight differences so one end fits better than the other)

I would love to see shallow drawers (only 2-3 dowels deep) but extra wide to accommodate longer pens/pencils/tools.

You could always use a similar size in pvc. Still flexible enough and it won’t resize based on humidity and temp

3D Print the sticks and make them hollow so you can run your cables inside them. OR Make the wooden sticks hollow and then run your cables inside them.
