This is modular allow you to switch things out and retain the paper quality if you need to remove it to display or sell.

The rubber band thing was potentially always going to be a problem because rubber rots and starts to crumble after a while. It’s why I always bind my journal inserts with string. I’m glad you’re revising that aspect.

i would suggest not to use rubber bands as they degrade like they become soft and brittle overtime and also can it can leave marks on paper.

1. I think a long form video brakedown of the book and your process (assuming you have the footage and the patience) would be lovely; 2. A leather back or paper back (I don't know what material its made of but something that feels comfy and looks clean (or easily customizable)

it took me a while to understand, but this is INGENIOUS. ive printed out several journal parts already, and yes, once you have the max spine, you can only have one per journal. but now with these inverted spines, THEY ACT AS EXTENDERS!!! you can connect as many normal spines as you want with each extender!!!! omg!!!!

I’ve actually been using my Infinite Notebook in a completely different way—I use it to read comics, and honestly it’s been the best reading experience I’ve ever had. Being able to make the book perfectly flat is amazing, and because it’s modular I can adjust the thickness to match each comic or graphic novel. That makes it feel much more like reading a real hardcover book instead of loose pages. I realized that if I only read thin booklets one by one, I don’t get the same immersive feeling. A thicker “book” just draws me in much more. One thing I’ve been struggling with is storage. After I finish assembling a comic, I usually don’t want to take it apart again. I’d rather keep each one as its own book, but I haven’t found a good way to store them neatly. Right now I just stack them together. That’s really more about my personal workflow than the notebook itself, so maybe I’ll eventually come up with a better solution. Another thing that would be really helpful is a simple elastic-loading tool. Because the elastics are quite tight, I have to pull pretty hard when threading a finished comic into the notebook, especially since I don’t want to bend or damage the pages. Even a small jig or holder that keeps the elastic stretched while inserting pages would make the process much easier—especially for people like me who don’t have much hand strength. Overall, this has become much more than a notebook for me—it’s become my favorite way to read.

Rubber bands are a bad idea for anything long term. They can degrade after a few years if you forget to change them, they melt into goo when you aren't looking, and the goo permanently ruins any paper it touches.

Hearing that rubber bands being universally sized was a wild thing to hear as just from where I grew up, rubber bands came in massively, different sizes and widths and it's always interesting hearing how things are different in different places where a natural consideration could be that old rubber bands are the same size
