100%, valve knew this pricing would give YouTubers and Bloggers ammunition to criticize. The problem is the price of RAM has increased exponentially and they don't have the size of PS and Xbox to distribute the costs among 5 million consoles. And they can't NOT sell because of marketing and R&D costs. So here we are.
