My horses hated the sound of rain, let alone HAIL, on the metal barn roof. It was loud, all right, but inside they had two big stalls, fresh hay, a loafing area in common.

Always make your farm shelter much buffer than you think you'll need 😂

I recently learned that horses are afraid to get trapped. They feel safer outside the barn and in the open. It's safer from lightning and building collapse. Quite smart actually 🤔

There's actually a reason why the horses wanted to stay outside! ( I heard this from my aunt who owns a horse, could be wrong). When they are under a roof during a rainstorm, the only thing they'll hear is the loud sound of rain, they cant hear if there are any predators coming, which is the reason they decide to stand outside. They also can't see as much if they are in there. My lease horse does the exact same thing, just standa still in tbe rain, watching the surroundings with the rest of his herd. But when it's sunny they'll gladly go into their shed and relax!

In finland our horse never comes inside at rain cus it keeps mosquitos inside

That poor rescue cow might not realize she has a shelter she can get into to get out of the rain now, so she doesn't even look for one. I can always count on myself to make myself feel sad. Good job self, you did an awesome job this time..
