Do your vinyl disks lack "sibilance"? Do they sound "muddy"? Then what you need for your overpriced audio setup is this super wooden mains filter that purifies your electrical power and bestows extra depth to your EXPERT audio experience. The fact it's made of WOOD tells you that it's a PREMIUM audiophile product. But don't even THINK of opening it because we have POTTED IT IN RESIN to hide our amazing and PROPRIETARY power filter technology. Oh dear! Big Clive has just de-potted it and drawn the schematic, and now EVERYONE knows it's just a very cheap and rudimentary capacitive filter. Lovely case though - but could do with the obligatory blue LED. They do actually sell these on AliExpress. But save your money. I am immensely disappointed it was not just a block of wood glued to a mains plug.
Clips can be reliably determined to be either alligator or crocodile on whether you will see them later or in a while.
it's a simple truth. If you spend a significant sum on a mains filter for your audio system, you will hear a difference. Nobody else will though. 😁
As an electronics engineer I LOVE the audiofool BS. I saw a video of someone reviewing an amplifier, and he said how important it is to get a "good" cable, it was 100$ minimum he said to get the proper performance. Also it was a USB cable...
The direction of the wood grain was optimised for the passivation of the angry pixies to make them carry the audio frequencies with 99.999% efficiency.
I’ll never forget the speaker cable tests done by a huge Hifi magazine. It turned out the best performing speaker cable was (drum roll please) regular 2.5mm twin & earth that you use for the ring main in a house. 😆 It outperformed pretty much all of the exotic and expensive snake oil cable.
oh wow its actually got circuitry, i would have guessed it was just a plastic plug glued to a block of wood and sold for $1400
Knowing my luck, if I had one of those it would have woodworm.
They aren't alligators or crocodiles where you are, they're Welsh dragon clips.
I just installed a 50 year old Archer Ignition noise suppressor on my solar powered car radio for the cabin and it worked. I'm most proud that I was able to find it in my "useful junk" box after 50+ years. I even bragged to my wife; "See, it was worth carrying my electronics junk through our many moves!"
"Wooden case and gold-plated contacts" will make any audiophile go "Shut up and take my money!" (Futurama Fry style)
This exceeds my expectations. From the thumbnail and description, I was sure that it was effectively just a wooden block with a plug glued to it. It effectively contains some real components.
They use big resistors because with all the potting there is nowhere for the heat to go.
My favourite audiophile product ever - Cable risers that lift your speaker wires so they don't touch the floor - Obviously to reduce inteference from the ....floor.
By breaking it open, you let out all of the "tone"
The difference between an alligator and a crocodile is that one will see you later and the other will see you in a while
someone should gift Clive an XRAY machine
I know it takes time to read, but this is from a real insider - myself! Just to understand of who I am: I grew up in Socialist East-Germany and got fully educated there. With 16 I built my own cassette stereo tape recorder based on a SONY drive with defective electronics, unrepairable in the GDR at the time due to the lack of spare parts. In 1991 with a fresh MSc in electronics I was employed at Leybold (Hanau / Germany) as a commissioning engineer, installing for many years CD-replication lines until 2000, including music CDs, CD-ROMS, DVDs and CD-R-making machinery, which included cooperation with a British firm (Nimbus) making equipment for the mastering processes. I installed these machines all around the globe but was also based in SE-Asia from 1993-2003 for doing so. Here is about the "high-end" Voodoo-stuff of this period: No, these 24k-pure gold CDs NEVER EVER included any gold. Instead of sputtering the standard aluminium for the necessary reflective layer we used a Cu-Zn alloy, the more copper the more redish the "Gold", the more zinc the more "Whitish" the "Gold". Our customer could chose the composition according to their local home market tastes. And there were so many more fantastic bogus products at the time like "polarised" speaker cables and Chinch-cables, "HIFI"-power cords with god-knows-special properties, house installation breakers with golden contacts and ordinary permanent-markers for blacking the CD-edges for a more "sophisticated sound experience". A lot of my friends at the time had small companies in SE-Asia making all kind of stuff and needed profitable side-business. Since I was reading at airports frequently these ridiculous "HIFI"-magazines, in those long evenings at the hotel bars after the Xth beer we came up with lots of such nonsense "marketing" ideas - knowing the "HIFI-High-Enders" would pay thousands for such Voodoo crap. And their HIFI magazines, although they never managed in their labs to find any difference at their oscilloscopes and frequency analysers, fuelled this BS regardless because they loved the add business and exhibition business which always came along with all of these excitingly new esoteric "inventions". You just had to hear it to believe it, any rational argument with "High-Enders" fell onto deaf ears. As long as their HIFI-magazine customer would pin-point this special more chirpy high-C than the standard not so chirpy high-C, they played the game along for free. Pages and pages of electrotechnical and acoustic physics BS. My buddies became very very rich with stuff like "hand-made" "golden-magnetically shielded "power cords" and ordinary black marker soft ink pens* or magic sound spikes for their speakers. Very important was always the luxurious finish of the refined cheap bamboo-boxes now dark-tinted to give it the Mahogany look in which these sophisticated sound-enhancing products worth entire bank accounts came along with. Later we added bogus serial numbers and invented colourful individual certificates to give these products the necessary "hand-made" masterly super touch. Here too anything marketed as "Gold" was indeed finest brass alloy. It was a crazy time - you could sell people electro-magnetic super-fine moon dust with the promise of a better sound. And they were CLEARLY hear an intense but very fine tiny difference, which was worth each of those 1000US$-prized "golden"-coated handcraft-soldered power plugs. One of my friends company was manufacturing ca. 200 pieces a day. Capitalism at its finest. *In Asia my buddies were running from Mo-Fr to produce basically black ink pens for ordinary office use while Saturday they received a special cap and nice packing to be sold as "CD-enhancers". The ink, well, was the same black sludge from the same tank. So whenever you still have one of these "Golden" 24k-CDs, please be reminded: only very sensitive and highly trained "Golden" ears would recognise the "Golden" sound finesse - of a German brass band and only after beer number 9! Rumbarumba-Rumtatta! 🤣 We loved it and it paid our houses back home off quickly. Thanks, high-enders, we still appreciate your donations! It seems to me that even now after 26 years, there are still plenty of HIFI-high-enders shelving out big amounts for i.e. a magic wooden cube (note the luxurious touch, feel and look) with a few cheap senseless components inside, pulling permanently a 100mA from your socket for actually nothing. Brilliant. Peace! from Dresden / Germany
The fact that the logo on the end is not level when plugged in would really annoy me more than anything.
“Squeezed in a vise with a 250 pound bear behind it” 🤣🐻
