starting to realize, as a heavy duty cnc machinist, that i have been desensitized to watts. some of the machines i work with on a day to day basis regularly pull over 10 kilowatts during a cut and some of our beasts for making big chunks of metal into little flakes at a terrifying pace pull over 50 kilowatts normally and up to 100 kilowatts at peak. for the ones who do not know, 1kilowatt is 1000 watts, which means the 100Kw peak is the equivalent of over 1,666 60w incandescent light bulbs all at once or for another example, enough power to theoretically vaporize 15,000 mosquitos per second if the wattage is converted to mosquito killing lasers.
