Logging in to Singpass could soon be safer and simpler. A new passkey option will let users verify their identity using fingerprint or facial recognition, instead of keying in passwords that can be stolen or phished. GovTech said the move is aimed at protecting users from emerging cyberthreats, while keeping the login process convenient. iOS users will get access first, while the option will be rolled out for Android and desktops in the future. More than four million people use Singpass every month. Nicolas Ng reports.

I thought previously already has the facial and thumbprint options
The current password and 2FA setup is sufficient for me, as I do not want to download any additional apps on my device and as sensors and camera issues are very common.
Whatever, it's still called Trace together 😂😂😂
I don't understand. The safest way is always to do it in person, without any phone. You can upgrade but always leave option for people to walk in and interact with a human being. We used to have chas card, physical but now you can only use app when the current card goes invalid. I just lost my ic and went to Clementi police station to lodge a report but I cannot do so even when I have my birth certificate with me because I do not have the app. To correct, it should be I was not allowed entry to the station because I can't produce my IC even though I came to station to report the loss of my IC.
Elderly unfriendly. Esp when finger print fades, memory fails in dementia, need assess to hospital app now ask them for passkeys...u think caregiver very free...
This is very dangerous. As the passkeys is source from your own device rather than SingPass itself. Could intelligence service or government operative use that data to access your personal files?
