The immediate fix is simple: e-rickshaw owners should set a Bluetooth password on their battery's BMS (most units let you do this through the legit app, and they usually ship with a blank or default password like 1234), or if the unit doesn't support a password, just have a mechanic disconnect the Bluetooth module entirely, since the battery runs perfectly fine without it and remote monitoring is useless to a rickshaw driver anyway. But the real solution is bigger than that. The government has now ordered BAT-BMS and Epoch Li-ion removed from the Play Store and App Store, and while that sounds like a win, it's just a band-aid, because the actual problem isn't the app, it's the cheap, unsecured Chinese BMS hardware sitting open without a password. Ban one app and any other app or custom Bluetooth tool can connect to the same open switch from 10 to 15 metres away. The permanent fix has to happen at the manufacturer and regulator level: batteries need security built in by design, with unique passwords, authenticated control commands so that merely viewing a battery can't shut it down, and firmware protection, all backed by a government safety standard that makes secure BMS mandatory and holds manufacturers accountable.

Here is the solution: Drivers have to keep phone's Bluetooth constantly paired and connected to the battery while driving. Since most battery BMS systems only allow one connection at a time, this blocks anyone else from trying to connect and turn it off. 😊
