Very true! My dog is allowed off-leash, but I always leash her or hold her when people pass. It’s common courtesy. Not everyone is comfortable around dogs.

As someone who was attacked by a dog once, thank you sooooo much. Im sure most dogs out and about are friendly and sweet, but that never negates the fact that some may not be. Just having your dog come over then holding her leash would calm most of my nerves knowing she listens so well.

Thank you! My mom was on a run where there were no signal and a guy with two unleashed dogs were about to pass her. One of the dogs then ran at her and bit her leg exposing fat. Luckily a family found her and got her the help she needed

My dog is fully trained off leash, but if someone asks me to put him on leash I do it 🤷🏻‍♀️ some people are scared, some don’t like dogs, but everyone deserves to enjoy public spaces! :-)

This is what I want people to do for me as I am scared of dogs (yes i got bit by one when I was little,so now im very afraid of dogs),bc sometimes when I was 10 people let their dogs jump on me and I screamed sm and was crying yet the lady was laughing and saying oh no whiles just standing their..😭

This! I always at least put my dog in heel or move far enough off the trail, just in case people are uncomfortable with them off leash. Not because my dog would ever do anything once so ever, but just a respect thing
