The only thing I would change is that technically the “Pro” branding of an upgraded console is a PlayStation thing. Xbox would say “Elite”
The capacitor doesn't leak an acid, it leaks a base. That's why it's common to neutralize it with a weak acid like white vinegar.

Here's a tip, I use dental tools to check if pins are soldered correctly. You can hold it like a pencil which makes it easier to do with precision.

To easily remove the jewel, throw the whole top cover in the freezer, then once it's frozen, smack the back of the jewel with a rubber mallet and it pops right off.
Zac, can you design and build a box for a PS1, PS2, SNES, N64, GameCube, and OG Xbox to make a retro gaming station? Basically, make an all-purpose retro box where you can play multiple retro platforms in one place. It would be cool to see all the ports on the back and front and everything packed together.

aside from the clock capacitor, the next thing to usually fail is the rubber band in the disc drive. thankfully its an easy fix.
Not ALL Xbox consoles suffer from clock capacitor leak. V1.6 Motherboards have a different capacitor that doesn't leak. Amazing how this knowledge gets lost to time. Also the Xbox was not disappointing at launch if you were actually older than a pre teen. It was a fantastic console for the time.
