Yeah someone said it but move the dry sump up front and you might as well put in an a/c electric compressor if you're going to add weight up front.
Get a bigger dry sump tank and put it in the front more weight
About damn time ive had to watch adam putting in a stereo, and tj starting his rx7. Letting us down jimmy, letting us down😂
I think Jimbo forgot to unprivate the video again. 😂
Switch to s85 throttle body actuators. They are better than s65 ones and the jacked up throttle body being used as an actuator isn’t meant for that torque/load.
Do a skid plate/weight lip like fwd drag guys. Covers all under front bumper of your choice as a thick steel plate to protect low bumper and add weight for balance
Move that dry sump tank with 10 quarts of oil to the front of the car before adding weight
What about adding one of 12 volt ac kits to the front for part of the weight balance ? Make it a little nicer for taking this thing down to run in the Smokey’s with LZ … 😂
Johnny is the most humble dude. When I grow up I want to be him
I’d love to see those adapters 3d printed in metal, it’s so cool that tech is available now
Fun fact early 911 with short wheel base had ballasts under front bumper and two battery's to counter the really bad weight ratio
16:00 an auto garage tbk bumper with those big fogs would help …
Keep googleing till you get the answer you want love it
You don't learn without mistakes
That car is incredible. You and the boys have done an amazing job. If you want that 60/40 just add a juicy splitter in the front and like you said a couple coolers and you'll be set. Love your work Jim. God bless you, the crew, and the whole family. Need to see mama Oakes back in the miata.
21:00 could you in theory use a pull weight scale to measure the amount of input needed to actuate the ITBs?
I bet if you switched out the rear glass and side windows for lexan, it would help the rear weigh bias a bit. At least it would reduce the amount of weight to be added to the front.
A video on proper weight balance alignment of the pro car or the Porsche with Jim in the driver seat would be cool and informative. The handling can change and improve quite a bit. I believe the place where DJ has been taking his stuff New England Motors does it or one of the guys that’s there does it in his shop. Btw, you’re supposed to fill a dry sump with the engine running on other setups. A lot of the oil stays in the engine, fill it then start it and you get oil on the ground. ✌️
17:40 no Jimbo, thats a porsche, the superlite is the gray one that you barely fit into
Wow the porsche is going to be quick at that weight. Also I feel like the inconsistent throttle position is likely a result of the whole thing lacking rigidity/being broken. If the actuators are mounted to the engine, and the ITB assemblies are moving, its never going to hold consistent throttle. Not even worth messing with the linkage until you can fix the ITB assembly rigidity issue.
