22:30 the golf ball texture on the bottom is so that when the boat/jet ski moves through the water at speed little pockets of air get trapped in the dimples which reduces drag from water resistance… this increases top speed as the relative drag is less but it is also done to help with fuel efficiency If it were completely smooth you actually get more friction as the water contacts the entire surface area, hope that helps explain the science and why it’s not smooth :) Edit: it is the same reason why a golf ball is designed with the dimples as the same forces apply when flying through the air it’s just harder to picture traveling through the air, but when traveling through the air it traps lots of low pressure are pockets as the ball has high pressure air passing around it (this reduces drag on the golf ball)
