1765-of8 had a recall a couple years ago for bad cards that froze the output. There was a bulletin about it with date ranges

Never had one of these analog cards die. Did have a relay card burst into flames when the cabinet it was running burst into flames as well. Oh the beauty of working as a steel mill. Everything's fire resistant yet it still manages to catch on fire.

It's always that one cabinet that has issues. Usually though they don't get soaked lol. Also loved seeing you do the math on the 4-20ma signal. Was a great way of breaking that down.

As an instrument guy... Nah that's a PLC problem instrument works just fine. But I was freaked out with how fast it was moving at first.

Next time your boss carelessly leaves his credit card laying around teach him a lesson and order up a fluke 771 or 773 if your felling really brave. Then you can hang out with the cool guys in the I&C department.

First time programming a plc at work is gonna happen on Monday. Nobody wanted to touch this thing in process control so I took it upon myself to learn it the best I can to try and fix it. I’ve got like 30 backups of the current program and it currently doesn’t work at all due to an alarm that doesn’t exist.

I have never had success with putting labels or stickers on things so other people could follow up. But when I see those labels, I recognize my own wording and just finish the job later.

I’m an apprentice at a company that does exclusively wastewater and water treatment work which is somewhat of a niche in our trade. We do a lot of new construction and not much troubleshooting like this which is cool to see.

At Three Mile Island, the valve sensors did not check the valve actual position.
