It's because of the length. In Europe the cab is measured, in America, I heard that only the trailer or cab without the engine is measured. It does *not* depend on how long of a route they are taking.

In Australia we have flat end trucks(the engine is under the cab so the cab gos forwards) and long end trucks
The flat hooded semi's doesn't matter where they come from but they are not European they are just old fashioned semis
The Europeans Trucks had also Long Hoods But Regulations say that the Trucks can‘t be So Long.
