This week we head three hours down to the RAF Manston History Museum with one goal – recover one of their historic CVR(T) armoured vehicles and bring it back to the farm for restoration. What looked like a straightforward recovery quickly turned into a real challenge. With the gearbox seized solid and the tracks refusing to move, winching it onto the trailer wasn’t an option. Instead, we had to get creative and use the HIAB to lift the entire vehicle before transporting it back to the workshop. Once home, the investigation begins. After finally freeing the seized tracks and stripping the vehicle down, we uncover a discovery that could change the entire restoration… Can this historic military vehicle be brought back to life, or is the damage worse than we imagined? I actually flew on one of the last operational Wessex helicopters in British service in Cyprus when I was in the Army in 2002. A fantastic aircraft.

Speaking of scorpion tank's does anyone remember the toy Action Man and the awesome vehicles you could get for him like the little Jeep and canvas covered truck and especially the tank which looked just like a Scorpion tank, i had all three but the tank was my favorite😍😊
I didn't realise the Scorpion was in that state inside, though I have only seen the outside of her. I can also recommend the museum as it is a nice place for the money and aircraft in it. I have also been waiting for this video to come out. And I hope you enjoyed the place as much as many others have.

When I was a young 15year old, about 50 years ago, I visited RAF Manston for a week summer camp as an Air Cadet. When I saw Joe sitting in the Wessex helicopter, it brought back a memory of going on a flight in a Wessex, from Manston, that year. We flew with the side door open along the coast waving at holiday makers at the seaside towns. We were strapped in, very noisy as I recall, but what an experience!! Probably couldn’t do that these days . Thanks Joe, Jack and all of your team, really enjoy your videos, be careful.. Cheers Terry
