With the new “Create a Pass” feature, you’ll be able to scan or import any QR code and turn it into a fully customized Apple Wallet pass. That means no more digging through emails, screenshots, or random apps just to find a ticket, gym check-in, or event pass. In this video, we break down how it works, why it matters, and how this fits into Apple’s bigger vision of replacing your physical wallet entirely. This might sound like a small update… but it could completely change how you use your iPhone every single day. Would you actually use this? I get the convenience of having you’re driver’s license in Wallet, but I’m going to hand my phone over to a police officer never. That just seems like asking for trouble. I’d much rather have a standalone license for that reason alone.
You said Digital fourteen times in this video. 🐬
Passbook from Apple literally used to do this lol
4:43 Costco is probably going to block that somehow because it would completely undermine their device limitation by allowing you to put the pass on an unlimited amount of devices.
As I understand it there are still many places where a physical license is REQUIRED. So you’d still need to carry your license on your person.
There are many apps right now that can creat a pass card for any Qr code or numbers and add them to apple wallet
I’d live to see a split screen option on iPhone
I just carry my Driver's License and my Costco Visa Card!
Still can't use Apple Pay at Walmart. I spent 6 months in South/Central America and I was able to use AP 95% of the time. Exceptions were sometimes in local taxis, small sidewalk vendors, and in Mexico where Uber isn't available.
Crazy you still can’t add Wegmans or Acme to Apple Wallet there’s a bunch actually
The Apple Wallet was far more easy to use when you could use your fingerprint instead of your face for authentication.
What if your phone gets stolen or in an environment where the phone can’t be charged immediately? “Always have a backup”, thats the ‘Golden Rule’ I’ve been trained on while working in IT and using technology, etc.
One downgrade they made in Apple Wallet was removing support for multiple QR code vaccination certificates. This is useful when a province (I’m in Canada) issues a full copy of your vaccination history across multiple QR codes rather than a single one. Unfortunately, Apple hasn't seen fit to restore this capability to Apple Wallet.
Not having a wallet and only relying on your phone is not a smart move. You should always have your physical ID on you, even if you can have it in the Apple wallet. You should also have at least one credit or debit card since not all places accept Apple Pay. If your phone breaks or gets stolen, you are out of luck.
Heck yes!! I’ve been missing the digital loyalty cards since Stocard sold to klarna. I just hope they enable location based triggers
25 times the word digital 🐬
I mean new stuff is fun and all, I just wonder when they're gonna smash all the bugs that are still here since iOS17 or sth... Getting a bit tired of their attitude against quality. "It just works" has long been forgotten.
Don't forget NFC addition, it would be amazing
Wake me up when iPhone supports tap-to-pay (NFC payment) in India
