Guys, if you go to Paris, do NOT stay in the 9th arrondissement. It’s one of the most expensive areas in the city. Honestly, if you can avoid staying in Paris altogether, you’ll save a lot of money. There are plenty of towns in the suburbs, like Nanterre, Houilles, Carrières-sur-Seine, and Maisons-Alfort, Colombes that are only about 10 minutes away by public transport.

The 18th and 19th arrondissement are usually cheaper and also close to lots of metros. But it's not as popular because it's not bougie and has less of the haussmanian architecture that tourists love. But I live along the canal and I love it !

Appreciate the transparency! Housing for a month long trip can definitely be a bit of a conundrum. When it's that long, you want to be able to cook for yourself so a regular hotel isn't ideal. But at the same time Airbnbs aren't always great value for money. I don't know the Paris housing market, but I was looking into month long airbnbs for my parents here in Glasgow, and even factoring in the cost of bills, places were going for 2-3x what they'd cost to rent regularly

Try Accor hotels appart hotels it will be cheaper than air bnb and you'll get cleaning and a kitchen

9 dollars for eggs is insane! Groceries here are definitely cheaper. If anybody is checking this video for tips. I'd recommend checking flixbus and other bus companies for short trips like Rouen. Sometimes they're way cheaper than trains

My trick is to stay in the suburbs for majority of my trip and then do a week in downtown. Usually that week in downtown is the same as my 3-4 week stay in the burbs 😂😂

That was kind of the luxe not-a-parent version of European travel. We spent USD2500 per person for 3 weeks including two plane fares (one long haul international and one domestic) and everything except 3 or 4 nights accommodation. But we travelled as a family of 4 and ate out twice a week not twice a day 🤪
