Quick clarification - the bokeh will not be any softer or blurrier on this new iPhone. The aperture is fixed, yes - but it’s already fixed wide open at around f1.7 on the main camera. the upside is that we will be able to get much sharper photos when the aperture closes. The only thing that could make the background more blurry at this point would be a much larger sensor with the same “effective” aperture. For the teeny-tiny size of this camera, f1.7 is approaching the physical limit. If they could make it even wider that would be sick.

Everyone seems to think variable aperture will mean shallow depth of field. Hasn’t anyone figured out the camera already has the wide aperture depth of field? Making it variable will only close it down, *increasing* depth of field, not reducing it.

Year after year it amazes me, how Apple can sell the same product every year for higher price and people will still buy it… wow!

As a 17 pro user, there’s not enough to upgrade, this is for the 14-15gang.

With the alleged price hikes I am very happy I decided to go orange, even though that red looks just as good in a more classy way.
