I always have my mechanic give my car a band-aid check when it goes in for a service. He usually finds things that are on the verge off failure. I'd rather have my car safe than save money. When I am going on a long trip, I also get my mechanic give my car the once over to hopefully ensure I don't have a break down miles from home.
