Aviation worker here (and aircraft nerd)! That chattering noise you could hear from the plane’s engines is completely normal on these engines, the CFM56 (commonly fitted to older A320 series aircraft like the one you flew on) are designed with loose fitting blades to allow for thermal expansion and to help with vibrations during flight, they move into the correct position when the engines are switched on, hence the chattering when the engines are “windmilling” on the ground 🙂 boom youve learnt something new! loving the more regular uploads Tim!

That’s noise you hear is perfectly normal, it the blades in the fan and they intentionally loose, leaving room for expansion. If the N1 fan is free spinning like it was in the wind and you don’t hear that noise then you might worry.

The video is excellent; I feel genuinely part of the channel now. Helen deserves credit for driving down to collect you from the airport, and the return trip was enjoyable despite everyone’s usual complaints about driving. The gator looks impressive with the trailer attached, and Stu deserves a mention for his practical work in constructing it. I think William’s going to fit into the team well, and that really cracked me up when you turned up with Bert. 😂
Now you can drive around the truck festivals, sitting at a table and drink beer !
