Give range in km/miles, not % ....
I came home one night with 9kms left and I was experiencing rage anxiety!
It's part of it but the larger part is that you can't just charge everywhere instantly like with petrol.
And when Apple makes electric cars, 19 per cent last you 4 minutes or so.
Range anxiety in electric cars is genuinely crazy. I was given an electric car as a courtesy car whilst mine was being serviced. It had a 30% range left and I couldn't get it out of my head thinking about how much range I had left. In my own petrol car I literally wouldn't care if I had 30% fuel left.
"Range anxiety" would not be a problem if we could guarantee there always being a recharging station round the next corner.
Maybe don't call it 'range' but 'top-up anxiety'. This situation forces you to establish a specific period during which you either are unable to use the car or must wait for it to be recharged. Yes, ideally, leaving it at home or in the hotel car park is convenient overnight. But when on holiday (or unable to home-charge), you must go to a petrol station, and assuming the charger is available and working, you need to plan for 30 to 45 minutes. You only get range anxiety when the car is getting low on energy, and you have to decide whether to use the air-con or heater equipment or sacrifice the distance you have remaining. A good comparison between Petrol and EV is like having a baby that you are always constantly thinking about when to feed or a 20-year-old child who will pretty much look after themselves and be fed in 5 minutes.
It's the UK you will drown in an ocean before you run out of Juice...

The big issue with electric cars isn’t the range, but the time it takes to charge. Apple and Samsung actually noticed this with smartphones as well. Everyone said that they wanted a bigger battery, but making the charging speed faster was technologically easier and just as effective in increasing customer satisfaction. Filling up a car with gasoline takes 5 minutes max. But, for electric cars, it takes nearly an hour to recharge even at the superchargers.
My vehicle has a needle that says 1/4 full, 1/2 full, 3/4 full and full. Thank goodness Microsoft doesn't make an EV, you'll be forever switchIng the damn thing on and off to reset it. Then when it gets going, it'll stop to update.
It’s not about this, it’s about the ridiculous charge time to 100%.
The most useful thing in my old e-Golf was the map that showed you how far you could go, and how far you could go and come back, as rings on the map, but adjusted for topography and road network. And in a Tesla, it’s seeing your arrival percentage. And that is SO accurate it’s not even funny.
Most cars have a % and a range left option anyway. When my range gets low I look at the %. Always calming.

I had an electric car Renault fluence ze and it had such a terrible range in order to use it normally i had to use the whole battery to 0% then it went in creeping mode to the next charging station.
Funny instead of saying that EVs don't fulfill expectations of customers you reframe it and pathologize people.
Now imagine a magic juice that you could just fill in your car everywhere and every time it gets low.
For such a clever guy you would think he would look after his own body.
