I bought an external SSD that advertised 480MB/s transfer rate. Plugged it in and was getting 120MB/s. Swapped an LTT cable in and instantly was getting over 480. Definitely worth the buy for the peace of mind and reliability. Edit: some wrong numbers. Oops.
