Sorry about the background noise, it’s the actual noise of that room at 1% volume. You can imagine how bad it was in person ;)

I had that happen when i was an apprentice. They had replaced an HMI and gave the old one to me to learn off of. So i happened to shine a flashlight against and noticed i could see the program working correctly. I showed it to my journeyman who took it apart ordered a replacement backlight and now we had a back up.

I just signed up for an industrial electrical class so I can get into the sanitation district where I live. You have inspired me to get out of the warehouses where I touch a control panel maybe once a month.

Thank you for the warning of plugging in flash drives haphazardly. What should've been a quick fix turned out to be a complete reprogram when "somebody" purposely plugged in an unknown drive into the back of a unit. Between version and functionality differences the entire system crashed. I ended up stuck in the mountains of NC for 4 days over it. A valuable lesson I wish I learned an easier way.

I like the video, though you prob didn't check the audio spectrium. There is a high pitch whine throughout the entire video which is kinda annoying

The sheer magnitude of the eye roll when AB decided that "No actually we can't just look for our file anywhere on the USB drive it needs to be WHERE I WANT IT"

AB’s HMI software has gotten ridiculously and needlessly complex as they have adopted the ‘planned obsolescence’ business model.

Secret trick - first time you load the PanelView from the laptop. Once that is done, pop in your memory stick and copy the internal storage .MER file to the empty USB stick. It will create the proper folder structure and put a copy of the file right where it needs to be.
