12:00 could also be because the 2nd gen PS4 controllers (like the one you USB-C modded) have a different PID, you might want to try comparing it with a 1st gen controller

9:50 I think it worked on those is because the PS3 (and probably PS Classic) can work with a ton of generic controllers (Switch Pro Controller, DUALSHOCK 4, Dualsense, etc) and so it just reads it as a generic controller (hence why you cant use the PS button) however, the PS4 which only works with PS4 controllers. as for the Steam Deck reading it, i think Steam just recognizes it as it uses similar drivers or something I dunno
What a smooth segway. ALSO- If you want to connect through bluetooth on PS4, you have to do it through the Bluetooth devices options in the System Settings. No guarantee it'll work, but that's usually how you pair anything non-OEM through bluetooth.
10:27 That IS the normal pairing behaviour when the console hasn't made contact with it yet, the automatic pairing only takes place once the system recognizes it, which would've at the very least brought up the user select when connecting the prototype controller. Rapid flashes mean it's in pairing mode, you could've grabbed the working controller, navigated to the ps4's settings, into bluetooth devices, and it could've shown up there, but let's be honest, probably not.(I do this constantly when I can't find a cursed microUSB cable after I used one of my controllers with my PC thru bluetooth, I just grab my still paired controller and pair the other thru the bluetooth devices menu.)

I can see that they have tried to create the design of this controller and the 1000 ps vita in the same style, with a shiny front panel and regular plastic on the sides. The latest dualshock and 2000 psvita models also have a similar style. It is very interesting
Hi, PS4 owner here. PS4s and 5s refuse to pair to anything without the appropriate PID, whereas the PS3 (and seemingly also the PS Classic) work with any controller that uses the Dimput standard.

Sony sticks use a kind of synthetic rubber that is just extremely UV sensitive for some reason. If you keep them away from sunlight, even reflected sunlight, they do ok. But if you leave them in the sun even for like a day, it starts to devulcanize like crazy and just pours out whatever chemicals that keep them supple.
