I was clocked at 93 in a 55 by an Arkansas State Trooper that was traveling in the other direction on a divided highway. Because I stopped and waited on him, he dropped it to 63 in a 55. That was my last moving violation...in February of 91.
This is how 99.9% of traffic stops go when you are respectful not an asshole and non-combative

I passed a cop doing over 100 on the rear wheel. He had to make a u turn and catch up. By the time he got there i was pulled over in a parking lot with my helmet off leaning on my bike with my ID in hand. He hopps out and said "you know i wouldnt have caught you if you ran." I said "theres no reason for all that." He said "i appreciate you pulling over just slow it down and keep both wheels on the ground." I said yes sir he got back in his truck and left. He never even approached me or looked at my license.
Chris Rock tried to tell us this exact same advice.
My dad taught me when I was learning to drive and I have since taught my kids when I was teaching them to drive...if you get pulled over, you pull over, roll down your windows, turn the radio off, turn the engine off, take the keys out of the ignition and put them on the dashboard then put both hands on the steering wheel and wait for the officer to ask questions. Then every answer is yes or no sir/mam type answers. It's simple respect.

Exactly 💯! I was in Law Enforcement for a total of 14 years and I literally only ever wrote like 5 tickets, one I was ordered to write, lol! This is exactly how most law enforcement officers are!
Missed opportunity to say "I can't drive 55"

I know the area where he was pulled over. I grew up in Utah, a beautiful country.
It also makes a difference if you're a 20 something kid on a race bike or a 40+ something on a standard, cruiser or a dual sport. When I was young & riding GSX-R's I got tickets all the time. Now that I'm grey haired & ride a KLR-650 & a Z900-RS, I've been pulled over for as much as 20 mph over & let off with a warning.... Saying "Yes Sir & No Sir" helps too.
The best part is he's not in cuffs, his bike isn't totaled and he's not in the hospital or dead by trying to outrun the trooper.
The reason most of the people run is normally because they are doing something illegal; either carrying substances, have a warrant, and/or not legal to be on the road for various reasons.
Crazy how you don't get shot or into an altercation when you just stay calm and pull over.
Its more the cop is also a biker than anything else
