I'd love to see you travel from Borneo to Java and Bali! That'd be much interesting! You can cross from Kalimamtan to Java by ferry to my knowledge, so it'd be less hassle

Rice in cloth bags are the best for taking care of moisture and humidity. I have used them in boats over the years especially near electronic wiring etc.. Good luck should be a great journey.
