Being healthy is not necessarily about living longer, it’s about being able to live fully while you are still here.

Hi Bea, nurse here. Either ice or heat can be good. Experiment and see what feels good. You may also want to try capsaicin patches or topical lidocaine — both very cheap and available over the counter. They can be really good to calm spasming muscles. About the fat pads… these are probably more normal and common than you think. I look at a lot of spine MRIs for my work. It’s very common for there to be a layer of fat near the cervical spine and the lumbar spine. Our patients are always asking us what that is- you’d think since you can feel your spine that it must be so close to the surface, but actually there is a lot of cushion in between your skin and your bones in those areas.

Right off the bat, you triggered the song "and I looked at him, and he looked at me, and I looked at him, and he looked at me!" 😂😂😂

Last year when I was 34 I got an infection in my right knee and couldn't use that leg for a month. Let me tell you all the squats and deadlifts I did before that helped me A LOT be more independent during that time. Especially going to the bathroom. Thank you left leg! Lol

Hi! I garden very close to you, what has helped save my veggies from our hot days is a shade cloth. I use a 40% shade cloth for much of the summer. I'm even growing lettuce that hasn't bolted in our 100+ days!

I would strongly suggest going to see a good physical therapist for your back. They can evaluate you and see what is causing your pain and Taylor treatment to help you. Hang in there Bea!

Not me totally distracted by Cheddie sitting like a statue in the background then slowly melting into a blob. LOL!

Take yourself to the Physiotherapist!! They are magical! Well more scientific and educated, but I went from rolling my ankles several times a week to rolling one ankle maybe once per year! It's been so helpful for my back toooooo Being 40s is weird.

You perform how you practice! If you practice showing up better each day, you'll be an inspiration today AND at 90!

BEA! You're royalty! That bump on the back of your neck is called a dowager's hump. People are getting that way younger now from looking down at phones & video games. Look up therapy vids to work on that. I was just looking at info about that for an adjacent topic. Someone recommended Dr Jon Saunders vids.

I'm so sorry to hear about your injury! I know this may be hard to do but maybe as you gain a little more mobility you can do an Epson soak for the pain. I hope you get to feeling better soon!! ✌🏽❤️

Try magnesium for the pain! Either as an epsom salt bath, the spray or magnesium glycinate tablets! Also for back support they make stretchier cotton compression garments that support the back similar to that purple brace but are a lot more comfortable to sit in, they're used by the Ehlers Danlos Syndrome community a lot! 💗

I hope you feel better quickly. I have had disastrous sneezes while walking, when I tore my pyriformis muscle. Some day you might want to see a good, recommended chiropractor to see what is going in with the neck and tailbone area. Maybe something can be adjusted.

Uhoh. Back pain from watching a movie? Sneezing that causes temporary paralysis you say? You are officially on the precipice of middle age. Every day is an adventure. Welcome to the team. Also, see if your walmart delivers. W+ membership is only like $100/yr. So figure for $10/month (including tipping the driver), all your walmart stuff, at your door, whenever you need it. Save your time and sanity. It's a beautiful thing for the introverts &/ or the anxious ones (or the temporarily disabled :). That's my 2 cents. Hope you feel better!
